Altered (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. 

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your personal data when you use our website, application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), and sets out your rights under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), where applicable.

 

By accessing or using our Service, you confirm that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

  • We collect the following categories of personal data:

    • Contact and enquiry data: name, email address, telephone/WhatsApp number, country, current role/title, company, and the content of any message you send us (via the Contact page, "Book a consultation" emails, or the Universal Application form).

    • Application and programme data: information provided when applying to Altered Performance, Altered Outperformance, or our advisory services, including your professional background, objectives, and information shared during a chemistry call, scoping call, or consultation.

    • Health and wellbeing data: where you apply for or take part in Altered Outperformance, we and our clinical/coaching partners may collect biometric, physiological, diagnostic and other health-related data (for example, via health screening questionnaires or clinical assessments) to design and deliver your programme. This is treated as special category data under the GDPR and sensitive personal data under the Swiss FADP, and is only collected with your explicit, separate consent.

    • Communications: records of correspondence and calls between you and Altered.

    • Usage and device data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, and pages viewed, collected automatically via cookies and similar technologies (see Cookie Policy below).

    • Data from third parties: publicly available professional information (for example, from LinkedIn), or information provided by a referring colleague, employer, or board on your behalf.

    We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 16, and the Service is not directed at them.

  • We use your personal data to:

    • respond to enquiries, provide quotes, and schedule consultations;

    • deliver M&A Advisory, Leadership Advisory, Altered Performance, and Altered Outperformance services, including coordinating with the clinical, coaching and specialist partners involved in your programme;

    • operate, secure, and improve our Site, including through cookies and analytics;

    • send marketing communications about our services, where you have consented or as otherwise permitted by law, always with the option to opt out;

    • comply with legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations; and

    • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

    We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.

  • Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases (Art. 6 and, for health data, Art. 9 GDPR):

    • Responding to enquiries and booking consultations — steps taken at your request prior to a contract (Art. 6(1)(b))

    • Delivering our advisory and coaching programmes — performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b))

    • Processing health/diagnostic data for Altered Outperformance — explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a))

    • Operating and securing the Site, including non-essential cookies — consent (Art. 6(1)(a))

    • Marketing communications — consent, or legitimate interest where permitted by law (Art. 6(1)(a)/(f))

    • Complying with legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations — legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c))

    • Establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims — legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f))

  • We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where necessary, with:

    • Service providers, including Wix.com (our website and application-form platform) and Usercentrics (our cookie consent management provider), and the email, scheduling and CRM tools we use to manage client relationships;

    • Clinical and coaching specialists engaged to deliver Altered Outperformance (see our Meet the Experts page), who receive only the data needed to design and deliver your programme, and who are bound by confidentiality and/or contractual data protection obligations;

    • Professional advisers (legal, financial, insurance) where necessary for our business;

    • Authorities or regulators, where required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property; and

    • A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to equivalent privacy protections.

    Our Site may also link to third-party websites (for example, LinkedIn profiles of our team and experts). We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

  • We retain personal data only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes it was collected for, including any legal, accounting or reporting requirements:

    • Enquiry/contact data for non-clients: as long as necessary from last contact, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.

    • Client and programme data (including Outperformance health data): for the duration of the engagement plus 10 years afterwards, in line with Swiss contractual and tax record-keeping obligations, unless a longer period is required by law or agreed with you.

    • Cookie/analytics data: per the retention periods set in our cookie consent tool, typically no longer than 13 months.

    At the end of the applicable period, we securely delete or anonymise your data.

  • Altered is based in Switzerland. Depending on the service providers we use (for example, cloud or software providers in the EU, UK, or United States).

    Your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside Switzerland and the EEA.

    Where we transfer personal data to a country not recognised as providing an adequate level of protection.

    We use appropriate safeguards, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (adapted for Swiss law where required by the FDPIC),

    or reliance on a recipient's participation in a recognised framework (e.g. the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework). Contact us for more information about the

    safeguards used for a specific transfer.

  • If you are in the EEA (or otherwise protected by the GDPR), you have the right to:

    • access the personal data we hold about you;

    • request rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;

    • request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to legal exceptions;

    • request restriction of processing;

    • object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing;

    • request data portability, where technically feasible;

    • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing; and

    • lodge a complaint with your local EU data protection supervisory authority.

    If you are in Switzerland, the Swiss FADP gives you equivalent rights: to obtain information about and a copy of the data we hold, to request correction or

    deletion, to object to processing and withdraw consent at any time, to be informed of any automated decision-making, and to lodge a complaint with the

    Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), www.edoeb.admin.ch.

    To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@altered.global. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and will do so within the timeframes

    required by law.

  • We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration,

    disclosure or destruction, including access controls, encryption in transit, and contractual safeguards with our service providers.

    Health data collected for Altered Outperformance is subject to additional safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, and is shared only with the specific

    specialists directly involved in your programme, on a need-to-know basis. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot

    guarantee absolute security.

  • Our Site uses cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels and local storage) to operate correctly, remember your preferences, understand how visitors use the Site, and, with your consent, support marketing. We use Usercentrics as our consent management platform; when you first visit, a banner lets you accept, reject, or customise cookie categories, typically including:

    • Strictly necessary cookies — required for the Site to function (e.g. remembering your cookie choices, security). No consent required.

    • Analytics/performance cookies — help us understand how visitors interact with the Site, used only with consent.

    • Marketing/advertising cookies — used, with consent, to personalise content or measure outreach effectiveness.

    You can review or change your preferences at any time via the "Privacy Settings" link in the Site footer, or through your browser settings (which may affect Site functionality).

  • We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements.

    We will post the revised version on this page with an updated "Last updated" date, and, where changes are material, provide additional notice
