About Altered
Altered is led by advisors with direct experience across M&A, leadership and executive performance.

Our story
Altered was founded to do one thing well: advise founders, owners and boards through the acquisition, sale and structuring of their businesses. It quickly became clear that the technical side of a transaction is rarely what determines its outcome; it is the clarity, composure and judgement of the people leading it.

That is why, alongside M&A Advisory, we built Leadership Advisory and Executive Performance: helping the boards and executives at the centre of a deal lead through it and building the personal capacity to sustain that clarity long after.
As technology scales, the value of the "un-automatable" rises. In a world where AI is fast-tracking complexity and pace, the most valuable leadership skills remain human: clarity, judgement, resilience and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
The result?
Founders and leaders who navigate high-stakes moments with clarity and organisations that outperform through them, getting the results they want for themselves and their companies.
Meet the Founder
Jamie Robertson
Founder & Lead Advisor
Jamie has led from both sides of the table: building and exiting his own business, steering it through a restructure and a merger, and advising on numerous sell-side acquisitions. He brings this first-hand experience to founders, owners and boards navigating their own transactions, as well as advising organisations from start-ups to multinationals on governance, board composition and succession.

He combines this commercial and transactional experience with expertise in leadership advisory and executive coaching, having worked with senior leaders across industries to help them lead with clarity and composure through high-stakes periods.
Jamie holds an Executive MBA (Valedictorian Honours) from IMD Switzerland and is trained in executive coaching and performance science, allowing him to combine commercial rigour with a genuine understanding of the people at the centre of change.

He leads with the belief that energy, clarity of purpose and composure are not a luxury for leaders. They are a performance requirement.
Our approach
At Altered, our approach sits where commercial rigour and human judgement meet. In a world where AI is accelerating pace and complexity, the true edge is human: clear judgement, sound decisions and the composure to lead well under pressure, built on evidence and experience rather than opinion. Everything we do, from M&A Advisory to Leadership Advisory and Executive Performance, is grounded in rigour and discipline, while honouring the reality of complex businesses and the people leading them.
Our values
We value deep trust, meaningful relationships and meaningful work.
Those values were not chosen in theory. They were shaped through first-hand experience of building, leading and advising organisations and seeing what pressure, pace and complexity reveal about people and performance.
Future outperformance comes from embedding these beliefs in everyday behaviour: how we listen, challenge, decide and support. It also requires protecting stillness and space, so leaders can step out of the noise, reset their energy and reconnect with what matters.
Partnership runs through everything. We work alongside founders, senior leaders, boards and organisations through inflection points, offering challenge without drama and support without pretence.
